Melt coating (isotherm powder)

It is a type of powder that is added to the molten surface of steel in a ladle or tandem. This powder, as a compound, much of which remains unmelted, covers the surface of the melt.

Indications:

1- Thermal insulation to reduce heat loss from the surface of molten steel, which ultimately increases the life of refractories and molds to improve casting conditions by increasing its controllability.

2- Prevent re-oxidation of steel by the atmosphere

3- Absorption of non-metallic impurities
