Ferro Chrome (FeCr)
Ferro Chrome is added to steel to import properties of hardness, strength and to make it stainless. High Carbon Ferro Chrome is most commonly used in specialist applications such as engineering steel. Low Carbon is used during steel production to correct Chrome percentages. It is also a low cost alternative to Metallic Chrome for uses in super alloys and other special melting applications.
Also, ferrochrome or ferrochromium with the scientific name (FeCr) is a type of ferroalloy, an alloy with a combination of chromium and iron; This ferroalloy is usually composed of 50 to 70% chromium.
Ferrochrome is produced in arc furnaces with reduced carbometry. The most common application of this alloy is in the steel industry, especially in the production of 10 to 20% chromium stainless steel. We also have the largest use of ferrochrome in the world in the production of steel.
At Akam Holding, we produce 2 types of ferrochrome in the following analyzes, high carbon and low carbon, for ordering and more information, please contact us.
