Iran has a high cucumber production capacity making it the fourth biggest cucumber producer in the world. Two available types of cucumber are:

Smooth cucumber, they are 14cm to 18cm long and have a smooth and shiny bright green skin.
Prickly cucumber, they are 10cm to 14cm long and have bumpy skin and are usually thicker.

Cucumbers are cultivated in two forms, on the field, and in Greenhouses. Iran’s field Cucumbers are available from late March till the middle of July. Greenhouse cultivated are available all year round.
