Ferro manganese is an alloy of manganese and iron. This alloy contains a large amount of manganese, which is mainly used in the steel industry.
In ferro manganese alloy, the amount of silicon must be controlled at low levels. Ferro manganese is also used as an oxidizer and alloying element in steel.
The ferrosilicon standard contains 14 to 16% silicon, 60 to 68% manganese and 2.5% carbon.
